I am trying to find what kind of swimsuit I can wear, so what body shape do it have?
I'm 5'6" and 130 pounds.
My waist is 24.5"
My hips are 35
My chest is 32b
My thighs are 21.5"
My thighs are kind of muscly due to soccer and karate. I have long legs. My upper body is much smaller than my bottom half. I wear a 3/4--5/6 in pants and smalls in shirts. My mom bought me this ugly 2 pc. swimsuit from a catalog and the bottoms were shorts and looked really unflattering because it cut of my thigh at a bad place. I want a 2pc. that shows of my smaller upper body too. If you could can you post links to pictures of swimsuits you think would be good for me, and what kind of body do I have?
As you seem to carry proportionally more weight in the lower torso, you most likely have a classic pear-shaped body, just like myself.
In my experience, a flattering swimsuit has much the same qualities as any other outfit. To make a pear-shape look more in proportion, the main objective is to visually draw the eye upwards to the smaller upper torso.
Some swimsuit advice -
Buy tops & bottoms seperately, so you can mix & match outfits. This will allow for the fact that you wear different sized bottoms & tops.
Draw attention away from your lower body. Choose a two-piece swimsuit with a light color for the top and a dark one for the bottom.
Detailing on the top, such as ruffles or patterns, will also bring the eye upward.
Accentuate your narrow shoulders & your bust with a halter-neck tankini or bikini top (perhaps with a padded cup)
High cut leg styles of bottoms help to make the legs look longer.
